The GL Company Announces Availability of New Projects Module for the Inquiry Suite for Oracle E-Business Suite
April 2008
Projects and Financial Foundation modules are now offered to users of The GL Company's real-time inquiry, consolidation and reporting system for Oracle E-Business Suite
The GL Company, a certified member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork and the leader in the Accounting Intelligence market, announces the availability of the new Projects Foundation module for The GL Company's Really Real Time Inquiry Suite for Oracle E-Business Suite (Oracle EBS). Combining this new module with the existing Inquiry Suite Financials Foundation module, The GL Company now offers a comprehensive inquiry, consolidation and reporting solution for Oracle EBS.
The GL Company's Inquiry Suite continues to be the inquiry and reporting solution of choice for many users of JD Edwards World and EnterpriseOne. In 2007, The GL Company introduced its Inquiry Suite for Oracle E-Business Suite, enabling reporting speed and ease for end users across the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Fixed Assets financial foundations in Oracle EBS. With the new Projects module, accountants and project managers can rapidly build their own inquiries and customized reports on Project Costing and Project Billing in Oracle EBS without the assistance of IT.
"The new Projects module extends the Inquiry Suite for Oracle EBS to include both financials and project specifics, providing a full-spectrum of detailed reporting to users of Oracle's integrated, global business applications," said Nick Gomersall, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, The GL Company.
One long-time customer of The GL Company is Itron Inc., the leading technology provider to the global energy and water industries. "When we migrated from JD Edwards to Oracle E-Business Suite in 2007, we also migrated to the Inquiry Suite for Oracle EBS," said Mike Eldred, ERP Manager, Itron. "Our teams like the easy user interface of the Inquiry Suite, and we're comfortable with the overall environment of The GL Company solution, so this familiarity was useful as we made the move to Oracle EBS," he noted.
"We've been using the Inquiry Suite for Oracle EBS Financials Foundation module for about a year, and we have just acquired the new Projects module," Eldred said. "The flexibility of Oracle EBS enables everyone to set up projects differently, but this makes standard reporting challenging. With the new Inquiry Suite Projects module, our accountants will have the ability to quickly configure their own, customized project reports and inquiries," he added.
The Inquiry Suite for Oracle EBS provides an easy-to-use interface for end-user inquiry and report building. Users find that the solution enables fast-running inquiries, at any level of detail, which complete much more quickly than existing reporting tools. Among its capabilities and advantages, the new Projects Foundation module enables end users to:
- Perform ad-hoc project cost analysis with multi project selection.
- Drill from General Ledger to Project subledger for reconciliation.
- Run live ITD (Inception to Date) and PTD (Period to Date) inquiries.
- Slice and dice from many of the data elements in the Project subledger by using The GL Company's "Virtual OLAP" engine which turns relational data into summary information without requiring the user to move data.
- Access attribute columns and DFFs (Descriptive Flex Fields).
- Consolidate and aggregate data by Project, Task, Expenditures or any field on any measure that is required.
