The GL Company Announces Availability of Sales Order Processing & Inventory Modules
March 2008
Two new modules complete the distribution product offering for The GL Company's real-time inquiry, consolidation and reporting solution for JD Edwards World and EnterpriseOne.
The GL Company, the leader in the Accounting Intelligence market, announces the availability of the new Sales Order Processing (SOP) and Inventory modules for the Really Real Time Inquiry Suite for JD Edwards World and EnterpriseOne. With a focus on customer requirements, The GL Company first extended its solution beyond financials into the distribution area in 2007 with the release of the Purchasing module. Now, with the availability of the SOP and Inventory modules for Inquiry Suite 8.1, The GL Company provides a complete distribution product offering to Inquiry Suite users.
The GL Company's Inquiry Suite is a true real-time inquiry, consolidation and reporting solution for JD Edwards World and EnterpriseOne. Like the Inquiry Suite financials solution, the modules focused on the distribution area enable end users to run time-consuming reports in just seconds and create their own customized real-time inquiries for rapid review and analysis without assistance from IT.
4Front Engineered Solutions, the world's leading manufacturer of loading dock equipment for the material handling industry, is one of The GL Company's existing customers that are already experiencing the advantages of the new Inquiry Suite SOP module. "The Inquiry Suite Sales Order Processing module provides us with very quick access to the data that we need to run our business on a daily basis", said Michael Eastbrook, Director of Operations for 4Front Engineered Solutions. "Like the other Inquiry Suite modules, it is in a format that is extremely friendly for broader distribution to non JD Edwards users within our company. Most importantly, it is simple to use and understand", Eastbrook stated.
The new Inquiry Suite SOP module provides a full view of sales activity and related functions wrapped up into one inquiry. Sales inquiries can be created to display current and future sales revenue as well as historical sales information. Users can examine the intervals between order dates, request dates, promised delivery dates, and ship dates as well as viewing ongoing information on all customers, with main totals and subtotals automatically calculated.
Global provider of memory products Kingston Technology Company, Inc. has been using the Inquiry Suite SOP and Inventory modules for the past six months. "We have experienced significant productivity gains in financial and transactional analysis", said Steve Rodriguez, Director of Business Intelligence at Kingston Technology. "The Inventory module has facilitated our end-of-the-month inventory reconciliation by allowing us to compare GL transactions with transactions in the item ledger and pick up any discrepancies. The Sales module affords rapid transaction analysis and can quickly link to AR reports to flag delinquent accounts. For all of this, our users can create ad-hoc reports over JD Edwards data without requiring support from our MIS group", Rodriguez added.
The new Inquiry Suite Inventory module enables users to create reports based on the key JD Edwards Inventory files. Users of the Inventory module gain a complete view of all inventory activity across all branch plants to aid in the creation of a multitude of inquiries on Inventory transactions over the JD Edwards database. Users of the Inquiry Suite Inventory module can:
-View inventory quantities for multiple items at a time.
-View inventory in multiple units of measure.
-Create aging buckets to view Balance Forward, Monthly Quantity and Ending Balance for multiple items in one inquiry.
-Further define inquiry results using filter selection item category codes.
"Customers who use JD Edwards distribution solutions told us that they want the same rapid, flexible inquiry and reporting capabilities that we have been providing on the financial side", said Nick Gomersall, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, The GL Company. "The release of the SOP and Inventory modules fulfils that request: combined with the Inquiry Suite Purchasing module, our users now have a complete inquiry and reporting solution for distribution at their fingertips", Gomersall stated.
The Inquiry Suite for JD Edwards World and EnterpriseOne is currently deployed in a growing number of businesses in North America, Europe, and Australasia. With Version 8.1, the following modules are now available: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Advanced Cost Accounting, Executive Console, Tax, Homebuilder, Job Cost, Budgeting, Purchasing, Sales Order Processing and Inventory. During 2008, HR, Payroll, and Contract Billing will be introduced, and modules in the manufacturing area are now in development at The GL Company.
